Dr. Shelby L. Ziegler, D.P.T. attended Slippery Rock University for her undergraduate education where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Shelby completed her doctoral studies at Slippery Rock University School of Physical Therapy, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. As a Neuroscience Graduate Assistant, Dr. Shelby became increasingly interested in concussion management and neuromuscular rehabilitation.
Dr. Shelby studied under Dr. Joel Antonucci, DPT during her final clinical internship, strengthening her hands on experience with post-operative rehabilitation techniques and
sports/orthopedic Physical Therapy. Dr. Shelby began her career practicing in the inpatient rehabilitation setting seeing patients with mild to severe traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, Parkinson’s, and gait dysfunctions. Her interests in concussion management, sports rehabilitation, and post-operative care drew her to the opportunities the Legacy team had to offer. Dr. Shelby welcomes the opportunity to come aboard with Legacy Medical Centers to incorporate Physical Therapy into their multidisciplinary team. Dr. Shelby’s primary goal is to provide exceptional one-on-one care for patients of all ages and disciplines, utilizing the most up-to-date evidence-based rehabilitation techniques.
Dr. Shelby is originally from Greensburg, and currently resides in Moon Township with her husband, Andrew. When she isn’t treating patients, you can find her on the slopes volunteering with Three River’s Adaptive Sports snow skiing. She also enjoys biking, golfing, or exploring new restaurants around the Pittsburgh area.
