Dr. Shayna attended Morehead State University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in May 2013. During her time at MSU, she worked as a physical activity instructor for a local elementary school, personal trainer, and was also a member of the all-girl cheerleading team. She began her postgraduate studies in Health and Wellness Promotion at MSU, where she worked as a Graduate Assistant for the Physical Education department. It was during this time that she became interested in the chiropractic profession and decided she wanted to focus her learning on a more holistic approach to health.
Dr. Shayna pursued her chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, where she graduated with her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in September 2017. During her experience at Palmer, she received additional training in instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), trigger point therapy, cox flexion distraction protocol, and decompression therapy. Outside of the classroom, she was an active member of sports council and had the privilege of working with athletes from surrounding colleges as well as participants in local athletic events. Dr. Shayna also spent time as a Teachers Assistant for technique class at Palmer, where she enjoyed helping younger students understand the art of adjusting.
During her clinical experience, Dr. Shayna became more interested in the benefits of chiropractic care for the pediatric population. When working with children, Dr. Shayna focuses on gentle adjustments and soft tissue techniques in order to correct misalignments and restore proper nervous system functioning. Dr. Shayna has
worked with pediatric patients experiencing postural abnormalities, ear infections, colic, gastrointestinal dysfunction, sleep disturbances, and other behavioral issues. She is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association with plans to start the Pediatric Diplomate program this winter.
