Dr. LaVigna is a native of McMurray, PA where she grew up playing competitive soccer at a national level for the Beadling Soccer Club as well as for Peters Township High School where her teams were three-time PA State Champions in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Her early exposure to the physical challenges faced by athletes, as well as her own experience with injury, contributed to Abbie’s realization that she was destined to pursue a career in health sciences.
Dr. LaVigna chose to continue her athletic career in college at Kent State University in Kent, OH as a member of the KSU Soccer Team and received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2017.
