Dr. Joel J. Antonucci, D.P.T. joined Legacy Medical Centers in July of 2016 to add the discipline of Physical Therapy to the already integrated approach of Pain Management and Chiropractic. Dr. Antonucci is excited to offer existing Legacy Medical Center patients and new patients alike post-operative, rehabilitation and orthopedic/sport medicine Physical Therapy care in a one-on-one, personalized setting.
Dr. Antonucci grew up in Northeast Ohio and received a bachelors degree in Biology from Grove City College in 2003. He then earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Slippery Rock University in 2006. Dr. Antonucci has now been practicing in the orthopedic/sports medicine setting for 10 years while gaining valuable experience seeing patients with simple and complex injuries, surgeries and conditions. He also has developed close professional relationships with orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons as well as primary care physicians in the area.
Dr. Antonucci believes in patient-first care where maximal benefit is reached through truly listening to the patient’s needs and concerns and addressing them through one-on-one treatment individually designed to meet each patient’s goals. Dr. Antonucci has completed extensive research-based continuing education on shoulder/knee sports injuries and surgeries, spine pain, gait training, manual therapy and mobilization of the spine and extremities. During his 10 years of practice, he has seen a wide array of patients ranging from current and retired NFL players to high school athletes. He also sees patients with joint replacements, general deconditioning, and those at fall risk. Dr. Antonucci is genuinely excited to collaborate with his colleagues in the Chiropractic and Pain Management fields to provide patients with a unique, unrivaled, and integrated approach to patient care.
Dr. Antonucci currently resides in North Strabane Township with his wife, Suzanne, and two children, Julian and Aurora. He will be practicing out of the Irwin office until June 2017 when he will began seeing patients at the Peters Township office as well.
